People sometimes comment that I have great faith and imply that I must come by it easily. "I wish I had faith like yours" is a phrase I hear often. It is a nice sentiment, but faith doesn't come easy. I get scared ALL the time. I take a leap and then freak out. What I don't do is let fear guide my decisions. I am terrified of this move, but I continue to move forward. (Just remember to pray for those around me during those seasons!)
The sermon was possibly the best Father's Day sermon I have ever heard. Check it out if you have time. It is the third in the series: http://www.vineyardlex.com/content/series/2015/angels&demons/angels&demons.html
After church we went outside where they had Dad Fest set up. We ate hot dogs and popcorn, drank root beer, looked at old cars, and then . . . I turned around and saw a new car for sale. Turns out one of the managers of Richmond Honda attends Vineyard Community Church. Pastor Jimmy hooked us up. I drove down to Richmond on Tuesday and came home with a beautiful 2013 Honda Civic. By far, the nicest car I have ever owned - and Brian made sure I got a great deal. I even have per diem coverage for a hotel and food if my car breaks down while I am on the road.
I am still waiting on my license to counsel - and waiting to hear from Our Lady of Peace regarding the PRN position I interviewed for. I did yet another interview on Wednesday and was informed they will decide who to hire this coming week. Income would be nice . . . :-) Thank you to those of you who gave to help me through this transition. I had no idea how expensive it was to rent a moving truck - and fill it with gas! Not to mention the incidentals of the down payment for the car, toiletries, and office furniture. You made this move possible. Thank you.
